«Новый реализм» «нулевых» – вариант Захара Прилепина

Tytuł: «Новый реализм» «нулевых» – вариант Захара Прилепина
Autorzy: Pańkowska, Ewa
Abstrakt: The purpose of this article is to present main motifs and major themes of Zakhar Prilepin’s literary production. Prilepin, Russian contemporary writer, literary critic, essayist, a theorist and prominent representative of a new literary phenomenon of the beginning of the 21st century, conventionally called “new realism”, is known for politically engaged novels and stories that carry strong emotions. The following Prilepin’s texts are analysed in this paper: two novels – The Pathologies, Sankya and selected stories from two collections of stories – Sin and Shoes Filled with Hot Vodka. We focused our attention on the way of creating main characters of two above-mentioned novels. Prilepin’s first book, The Pathologies, about an immature and frightened member of the special services serving in Chechnya, draws on Prilepin’s own experiences in Chechnya in the 1990s. Prilepin’s next book, Sankya, portrays a contemporary “revolutionist”, a young man involved in radical political opposition.

Между ужасным и прекрасным: эстетика зла в повести А. Королева Голова Гоголя

Abstrakt: In the postmodern novel The Head of Gogol Anatoly Korolev discusses moral and philosophical issues (good and evil, beautiful and horrible, beauty and death), which are the most important to mankind of any historical epoch. As a rule, interest in such problems increases during a transitional period, in a situation of change in value paradigms. The object of artistic understanding of the writer is the aesthetics of the "new time", the aesthetics of evil, which is based on the category of the horrible. In Korolev’s perception, aesthetic category of horrible acts not only as the opposition or as negation of beauty, but poses a threat to human existence. The writer opposes the aestheticization of death and pain, shows the absurdity of the world in which the line between horrible and beautiful disappears. From the writer’s point of view, anesthetization of evil is unac ceptable even for a good purpose. Korolev contrasts «bloody» beauty of the new world with immaculate divine beauty, based on the harmonious combination of kindness and love.

Abstrakt: The main purpose of the analysis performed in this article is to point out the presence of an element of the absurd in Vladimir Sorokin's works. The subject of interpersonal relations absurdity is a relevant aspect of Sorokin's story Nastia. The author's creation refers to the motive of the nonsensical feast also known from Sorokin's other stories. Consumption of a human body described in Nastia does not have any argumentation or justification. To highlight the absurdity of individual – sanguinary society relation Sorokin reaches for literary devices like: satire, hyperbola, irony and even grotesque.

Abstrakt: The dialectics of the beautiful and ugly in the book of poems of M.Stepanova Happiness has been considered in the article. Both categories have been comprehended in their etymological meaning and according to it «the ugly» is the image-less, i.e. the absence of an image, form, idea, whereas «the beautiful» is the most beautiful – it becomes the most beautiful when it embodies the unity of the idea and form, the institutionalization of sense. The correlation of the ugly and beautiful in the book of poems is determined by the author’s comprehension of the mental crisis which characterized the social consciousness in the post-Soviet era. The stay in the «transition point» forms the appropriate chronotope in the poems of M.Stepanova – the chronotope of the fine line between the past and the present, between life and death. The penetrability of these worlds introduces some mystical colouring to the poems, creates either the visionary reality or the reality of the altered consciousness. Together with the imperceptible transfers from the voice of the impersonal narrator to the voice of the character or together with the dialogue of the individuals who don’t understand each other because they speak different languages (the language of the conventionally healthy mind and twisted mind), such chronotope creates the atmosphere of the awful, incomprehensible and, therefore, frightening world. The tradition of the romantic novel which was rethought helps M.Stepanova to express collective phobias created by the historic experience, to reconstruct the collective unconsciousness. The composition of the book of poems is the evidence of the aesthetical overcoming of the chaos of the daily life and chaos of consciousness through the creation. The central subject of the book of poems is the meta morphosis of the consciousness, the agonizing discovery of the form as the beginning of the transfer from the ugly to the beautiful.
