First of all, there appeared more complete editions of his works, presenting the real picture of his writing and at the same time depicting him as a versatile author. The introductions to his writings were finally free of ideological unnecessary interpretations, unlike those previously written, which credited Potocki with awareness of things he could not possibly have been aware of, giving utterly false impression of his literary legacy. The same decade saw the beginning of an extensive research programme on Potocki’s literary works. At that time, the first important, objective and reliable treatises emerged that explored the essence and the true purport of his works. Autorzy: Niewiadomski, Andrzej Abstrakt: The article is an attempt to verify the once set and today common critical notion of the literature of the 80s, having strong impact on the today’s historical literary discourse. “Black Hole” and “Interim” are the phrases that to great extent determined periodical arrangements indicating an obvious connection between the time of socio-political changes at the end of the 80s and the “turning point” in literature. Deep transformation of the collective consciousness left its strong mark on literary works, regardless of the channel they were to circulate in. The interpretation of the novels by Wiesław Myśliwski, Stone Upon Stone (Kamień na kamieniu), by Eustachy Rylski, Stankiewicz. Powrót (published in the official circulation), by Tadeusz Konwicki, Rzeka podziemna, podziemne ptaki (written for an underground publishing house) and texts written abroad confirm that the process of disintegration of collective myths, so far uniting the community, accelerated considerably in the ninth decade of the century.
