Badaczka za pomocą bezpośrednich obserwacji, rozmów i lektury wytworów autobiograficznych nakreśliła różnorodne wizerunki młodych ludzi funkcjonujących w środowisku szkoły i więzienia. Obiektem jej zainteresowań była również partycypacja młodzieży w życiu publicznym i to, w jaki sposób budowała ona swoje zestawy wartości w zgodzie lub opozycji do komunizmu.; The aim of the article is to analyze the scholarly work of sociologist Hanna Świda-Ziemba with a focus on her research concerning youth living in the Polish People’s Republic. Through direct observations, interviews, and the study of autobiographical writings, she outlined diverse portraits of young people functioning within school and prison environments. She also explored youth participation in public life and the ways in which youth constructed their value systems – either in alignment with or in opposition to communist ideology.

Tytuł: Trauma w perspektywie rytuału przejścia i konwersji religijnej Autorzy: Zawadzki, Grzegorz; Zawadzka, Iwona Abstrakt: The aim of the article is both to determine whether at individual stages of religious conversion any indications of social pathology affecting converts occur and to point out similarities of the aformentioned stages of religious conversion to the rite of passage. For this purpose, the former’s Catholics narratives available on social media, in which they describe their path to conversion to Orthodoxy and Protestantism, were analysed. The research used the digital netnography method as well as qualitative analysis of the collected empirical material, carried out by the Lewis R. Rambo Model and with reference to the Van Gennep’s three-phase rite of passage. The content of converts’ narrative indicates numerous traumatic experiences taking place at individual stages of the process of changing one’s religious denomination.

Tytuł: Credo in Spiritum Sanctum, Dominum et vivificantem. Przemiana w Genezis z Ducha Słowackiego i Kainie Byrona w świetle odkryć naukowych Autorzy: Zimnoch, Karol Abstrakt: The author analyses the motif of transformation and resurrection in Juliusz Słowacki’s Genezis z Ducha, referring to Christian and Gnostic eschatology. At the same time, he takes into account the literary context – George Gordon Byron’s Kain – as well as the sociological context – nineteenth-century scientific discoveries. The author of the dissertation focuses on the topic of extinct animals, fossils and preadamites as the main link between mentioned works. He also draws attention to the posthumanist and ecocritical themes present in Juliusz Słowacki’s Genesis from the Spirit. The work aims to draw attention to the impact of natural discoveries on the vision of human’s role in the world, which changed profoundly and rapidly in the nineteenth century.
