Abstrakt: Social perception of urban space is one of the elements that shape the identity
of the city dwellers. In culturally heterogeneous cities, such as Bialystok,
each group may have different or even contradictory attitudes toward the urban
space. The purpose of this paper is to examine how this space is seen by Bialystok
inhabitants and what are the interpretations of the historical center in the
official memory of local authorities as well as in the memories of individuals
and various communities of memory.
The analyzed data indicate differences in social perception of urban space in
various ethnic, cultural and political groups. These differences suggest that the
city center can be symbolically divided into two qualitatively different spaces,
one of which, better known and prestigious, is associated with the past of the
dominant Polish-Catholic group, while the other is the space less recognized
and valued, which implies the past of other cultures. At the borderline of these
two spaces, several conflicts over space occurred in recent years. The results
suggest that Bialystok lacks a coherent perception of space and intergroup conflicts
over space may be repeated in the future.

Abstrakt: The article presents the problem of spatial marginalization and exclusion in the
context of modern Polish cities. The analysis concentrates on marginalization
in the area of housing assets (access and quality), public space (physical, visual
and symbolic limitations), restrictions of spatial mobility and participation in
spatial development. The conclusion comprises the significant mechanisms of
spatial marginalization, including municipal policy and socio- cultural factors.

Abstrakt: Human rights protection system defines the rights of not only single individuals,
but whole groups of society. The political space is a visible area that is not
quite „free” from the manifestations of unequal treatment. Examples are, even
minimal, noticeable on the political agenda and the electoral environment targeted
at people with disabilities foundation program / election. It is worth considering
the direction in which this phenomenon should evolve. Both the analyzed
programs as well as slogans appearing before the actual announcement
of the election campaign and the political debates arise the need for a slogan
of the new legislation, or improvements of existing legislation. But it would be
most effective work across party lines, the implementation of the multi-phase,
regardless of the parliamentary majority and non-parliamentary party, environmental
activities for people with disabilities.

Abstrakt: The subject of discussion are the results of research in the field of visual anthropology
of people with intellectual disabilities. A photograph taken as a form of self-report was
used as a method. People from the research group were using cameras to present what
seemed to be important in their life. The results are grouped into several categories,
including Family, Home, Nature, Pets, etc. The results suggest a strong bond and intensity of the relationship with the environment as well as aesthetic sensitivity.
