Studia i szkice Redaktor(rzy): Janicka, Anna; Janicki, Joel Joseph; Wejs-Milewska, Violetta Abstrakt: On May 23-25, 2018 took place the International Scientific Conference "Ukrainian and Polish Independence Emigration in the 20th Century. Traditions - Personalities - Ideas – Rhetoric”. It was a huge Polish-Ukrainian project organized by the Department of Polish Studies of the National University of Taras Shevchenko in Kiev and the Department of Philological Interdisciplinary Research at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Bialystok, and supported organizationally and financially by numerous Polish and Ukrainian institutions, including: the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, the Polish Institute in Kiev, the Podlaska Library named Łukasz Górnicki in Białystok, Representation of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Kiev, Institute of Literature. T. Shevchenko of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine and the International School of Ukrainian Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The conference, the aftermath of which in the form of a selection of studies we present in this volume, was aimed at presenting the political, educational and cultural efforts of the Ukrainian and Polish emigration, it was also an attempt at critical reflection on the Polish-Ukrainian historical and literary heritage. When designing the Kiev discussion on this subject, we assumed that the emigration experience is a common experience for both our nations and societies, especially in the 20th century, traces of which we find not only in Polish and Ukrainian socio-political thought and culture, but also in direct mutual relations between the members of the two diasporas. AlI political (independence) emigrants were accompanied by the same kind of drama related to the obligation to recognize the tragic consequences of geopolitical agreements which resulted in, among others, Ukrainians and Poles, in fact, had nowhere to return from the war or could not (did not want) to return to their homeland. Returning in new socio-political conditions, i.e. related to Soviet domination, was a deadly threat. The presented volume brings texts by researchers from Poland, Ukraine, Great Britain and Taiwan, which have not been published in Kiev so far. They have been divided into three parts: I. Weaves of tradition; II. Emigration Ukrainian shots; III. Emigration experiences of Poles. The whole is complemented by a photographic annex showing the conference in Kiev in 2018. The volume was edited by researchers from the Department of Philological Interdisciplinary Research at the University of Bialystok: prof. Anna Janicka and prof. Violetta Wejs-Milewska, as welI as prof. JoeI J. Janicki from Soochow University in Taipei (Taiwan). The volume is published thanks to the financial support of the program of the Minister of Education and Science under the name "Regional Initiative of ExcelIence" implemented in the disciplines of linguistics and literary studies at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Bialystok in the years 2018-2022.; 23-25 травня 2018 року в Києві відбулася Міжнародна наукова конференція «Українська та польська політична еміграція XX століття: традиції - особистості - ідеї - риторика». Це масштабний польсько-український проєкт, організований кафедрою полоністики Київського національного університету імені Тараса Шевченка та Відділенням філологічниx інтердисциплінарних досліджень філологічного факультету Університету в Білостоці та реалізований за організаційної та фінансової підтримки польських та українських інституцін, зокрема Посольства Республіки Польща в Україні, Польського інституту в м. Київ, Підляської бібліотеки імені Лукаша Гурніцького у Білостоці, Представництва Польської академії наук у Києві, Інституту літератури ім. Т. Г. Шевченка НАН України та Міжнародної школи україністики НАН України. Мета конференція, за результатами проведення якої підготовлено наукові розвідки в цьому збірнику, - представлення політичниx, освітніх і культурних прагнень української та польської еміграції, а також критичне осмислення польсько-української історико-літературної спадщини. Підгрунтям початку київської дискусії на цю тему стала близькість еміграційного досвіду обох народів і суспільств, зокрема в XX столітті, наслідки чого спостерігаємо не лише в польській та українській суспільно-політичній думці та культурі, а й у прямих відносинах між представниками діаспор. Усіх політичних емігрантів о6‘єднувала спільна трагедія, пов'язана з потребою визнати негативні наслідки геополітияних домовленостей результатом яких стала неможливість (небажання) повернення на батьківщину після війни для багатьох українців і поляків. У нових суспільно-політичних умовах радянського панування повернення становило для них смертельну загрозу. У колективній монографії представлено тексти дослідників із Польщі, України, Великої Еританії та Тайваню, які раніше не публікувалися в Києві. Наукові розвідки охоплюють три розділи: I. Переплетення традицій; II. Українські емігранти; III. Еміграційний досвід поляків. Все це доповнено додатком, що містить світлини з конференції в Києві у 2018 році. Видання редагували науковці відділу філологічних міждисциплінарних досліджень Університету в Білостоці: проф. Анна Яніцька та проф. Віолетта Вейс-Мілевська, а також проф. Джоель Дж. Яніцький з Університету Сучжоу в Тайпеї (Тайвань). Збірник опубліковано завдяки фінансовій підтримці програми Міністра освіти і науки під назвою «Регіональна ініціатива досконалості», реалізованої в дисциплінах лінгвістики та літературознавства на філологічному факультеті Університету в Білостоці в 2018-2022 роках. Tytuł: Władze Rzeczypospolitej na emigracji oraz w kraju w czasie wojny i po jej zakończeniu wobec Ukrainy - zmiana czy kontynuacja postaw i koncepcji Autorzy: Woźniczka, Zygmunt Abstrakt: The article analyses the attitude of the Polish government -in -exile and in the country (also after the end of the war) towards Ukraine. A detailed presentation has been provided with regard to the views of Polish political parties towards the possibility of political cooperation between Poland and Ukraine (in the country and in exile, and after the war - in exile). The problem of significant difficulties in establishing political and cultural contacts between diasporas in exile has also been raised in the context of the Volhynian massacre and its consequences, one of the most important of which in the country was the forced resettlement of the Ukrainian population from the south-eastern border of the country to the north-west by the authorities of the People's Republic of Poland, known as the Operation Vistula. Opis: Redaktorzy naukowi tomu podjęli decyzję o publikacji niniejszego artykułu mimo uwag sformułowanych przez jednego z recenzentów, który zasugerował dość gruntowne przekształcenie wypowiedzi. Ponieważ recenzje spłynęły po śmierci Autora, redakcja zdecydowała się nie wprowadzać poprawek merytorycznych, została naniesiona jedynie korekta językowa, a także zostały usunięte oczywiste błędy zapisu tytułów, nazwisk, nazw własnych. Tekst zatem został włączony do niniejszego tomu w postaci zgodnej z intencją Autora.

Tytuł: Awangarda po apokalipsie Autorzy: Fazan, Katarzyna Abstrakt: The article discusses Józef Jarema's connections with the European avant-garde circles before and after World War II. The author assumes that the pre-war contacts and creative attitude of the Krakow artist were the source of his great optimism, which was not destroyed by the war trauma. The article proves that the latest biographical research reveals the image of Jarema, who constantly trusts in the progress of civilization and culture, who treated his stays in Paris as an opportunity to broaden the horizons of Polish art of the 20 years (in practice, combining visual arts and theater) and from the 1940S he used forced emigration to continue his search for and expanding environmental relations. His Italian and French contacts allowed him to create international artistic groups and implement plans to popularize art around the world.
