Autorzy: Chudoba, Marcin
Abstrakt: The aim of this paper is a character analysis of Conan Edogawa – the protagonist of Meitantei Conan by Gōshō Aoyama – as a variation of the superhero. The research material includes manga, animated series adaptation and related cinematic films. The broadly understood criminal novel (mostly the Sherlock Holmes cycle by Arthur Conan Doyle) was the source of inspiration for the Japanese artist. The analysis of the collected material demonstrates that the described franchise used a transmedia narration. Both Aoyama and the authors of animated adaptations use transfictionality in their works. With the combined usage of the criminal and superhero elements, the Japanese artist created an omnipotent and omniscient superhero detective who can solve any mystery.

Autorzy: Stybor, Aleksandra
Abstrakt: The article analyzes the construction of masculine identity of the characters from Tadeusz Konwicki’s Sennik współczesny through their relationships with women. By referring to the war experience as an element organizing the category of masculinity, the author relies on the works of the German sociologist Klaus Theweleit to analyze the male gaze. She also uses the key psychoanalytical categories, such as the Oedipus complex, and demonstrates their usefulness in interpreting the function of the Romantic myth in Konwicki’s works.

Tytuł: Przestrzeń utracona i tożsamość (nie)zbudowana. Świat wspomnień jako forma terapii tożsamościowej w Lidzie Aleksandra Jurewicza
Autorzy: Zdanowicz, Aleksandra
Abstrakt: The article offers an interpretation of Lida by Aleksander Jurewicz by examining the condition of a post-Yalta migrant, who cannot adjust to the new place. A detailed analysis of Jurewicz’s use of memories allows us to understand Lida as a form which, through literature, heals the relocation trauma and helps one to restore a cohesive sense of self. By referring to the concept of repressed memory of a traumatized melancholic, multiple repetitions and a sense of lost identity, the author demonstrates how important in this process is the ambivalent role of remembering and journaling. Both process place value on childhood as the crucial moment in the author’s life, but they also hinder the adjustment to the new space.

Tytuł: Kontrowersje w poezji Lucyny Skompskiej
Autorzy: Misiak, Iwona
Abstrakt: The article discusses the potentiality which regulates or disturbs the flow of events in the poetry of Lucyna Skompska. The accidental character of events as well as the controversies demonstrating themselves in the book of poetry Farby wodne [water colours] resemble, on the one hand, the technique of water colours, and, on the other, point to a characteristic strand of Skompska’s works, which is attempting to show the possibility and impossibility. The most significant background for the reflections is the philosophy of Giorgio Agamben, who analyzes the conduct of Bratleby, a copyist from Melville’s short story. The scribe’s weakness morphs into an ambivalent literary experience, and the poems connote “dead letters” sent out to the world.
