Tytuł: O tradycjach uniwersyteckich biografistyki naukowej (wokół Adama Mickiewicza Karola Estreichera i Juliusza Słowackiego Antoniego Małeckiego) Autorzy: Dambek-Giallelis, Zofia Abstrakt: The article approaches two biographies that were published in mid-nineteenth century in Lviv: Adam Mickiewicz by Karol Estreicher (1859) and Juliusz Słowacki. Jego życie i dzieła w stosunku do współczesnej epoki by Antoni Małecki (1866). The author of the article focuses on the research methods of both biographers, which were primarily inspired by their university studies. The article characterizes a circle of Estreicher’s professors from the Jagiellonian University, the tradition of Józef Muczkowski’s bibliography and Michał Wiszniewski’s philosophy of history. To contextualise Antoni Malczewski’s work, the author points to his studies in Wrocław and Berlin, emphasising their Hegelian character.

Tytuł: Wartościowanie w Odczytach o poezji polskiej w pierwszej połowie XIX wieku Wojciecha Cybulskiego Autorzy: Kuczkowski, Bartłomiej Abstrakt: In the first part of the article, the author discusses valuation as an object of research in humanities and as an epistemological activity of all individuals. Next, he describes the textological and generic aspects of Odczyty o poezji polskiej w pierwszej połowie XIX wieku by Wojciech Cybulski. The aforementioned work is a translation from German, a collection of scripts of Cybulski’s academic lectures and an example of specific discourse situated between literary studies and literary criticism. This context fundamentally influences the analysis of Cybulski’s narrative about values. In the next sections of the article, the author discusses the valuation criteria in Cybulski’s lectures: political liberty and originality of literary works; their national character; aesthetic values, especially composition and aesthetics sense of the author; problems of literary contents and the influence of literary works on readers.
