O Muzie dalekich podróży Teodora Parnickiego Autorzy: Jakubowiak, Maciej Abstrakt: The article analyses the influence of copyright on the structure of a literary tekst, in this case: Teodor Parnicki's The Muse of Distant Journeys [Muza dalekich podróży]. The author indicates a few levels (from the thematic layer, through the structure of the text, to subjective strategies) of influence on the shape of Parnicki's novel exorted by his contract with the publisher and the copyright obligations. Jakubowiak follows the strategic negotiations of the writer trying to maintain independence from the legal conditions which, in the end, enable his literary activity. He treats Jacques Derrida's analysis of Kafka's parabollic story Before the Law [Przed Prawem] as a specific point of reference in which the French philosopher finds crucial references to the notion of law not only on the thematic level but aIso on the structural and performative one. A single analytical example allows the author of this text to formulate hypotheses regarding the general relations between the law (especially the copyright law) and modern literature.

The author points to figures from all over the world who - in their works - combine fascination with words and sadistic, often psychopathic predispositions. The most detailed description concerns Krystian Bala, a Polish writer-murderer whose book Amok helped resolve the mystery of murdering a businessman from Wrocław. In addition, the article sheds light on a few key issues which emerge from the reflections over the criminal aspect of literature and could contribute to further research conducted with the help of classical tools of literary studies.

Tytuł: Uwolnić Korczaka? Zagadnienie praw autorskich do spuścizny autora Króla Maciusia Pierwszego Autorzy: Sęczek, Marlena Abstrakt: This texts depicts the situation of the late writer in view of the bureaucracy of law. It presents the post-war history of state institutions' supervision over the literary legacy of Janusz Korczak who died childless. The author uses archival materials kept, among others, by the Korczakianum Centre for Documentation and Research and the Association of Authors ZAiKS. On the basis of the documents from the 1950s stored in the District Court in Lublin, Sęczek reconstructs the process of establishing the dates of birth and death of the Old Doctor which blatantly differ from the factual and commonly known ones. Additionally, the materials retained in the State Archive of Warsaw enable the researcher to falsify the well-established outlook (according to so called "korczakologia", i.e. the studies on Korczak) concerning the lost register containing Henryk Goldszmit's personal data.
