Jak język polski i francuski odzwierciedla wzajemne postrzeganie Polaków i Francuzów?

Abstract

This article presents linguistic stereotypes of a Pole in French and a Frenchman in Polish. The research methodology was that of ethnolinguistic study of the view of the world contained in the language. Both linguistic stereotypes are illustrated by a variety of meanings of the words Polonais and Francuz, their derivatives, word associations, collocations and usage in literary texts. Linguistic stereotype differs from objective reality as it is rooted in the language, whose structure is less susceptible to changes and stores value systems for a long time.
